Ted Sarandis is proud to uphold the bedrock American values of God, Family & Country as established by our forefathers that he learned from his World War II generation parents. Unlike the incumbent Commissioners, Ted is NOT a career politician & that’s a very good thing for you! He is looking out for the folks.
Ted is a true populist & brings relevant, real world experience in property management, electronic media & support of soldiers, veterans & average hard working men and women. Ted is self-employed in property management, overseeing rental units owned & operated by him & his wife Mary-Ellen, a successful attorney. He spent many years as a radio & television talk show host & college basketball play by play talent in Boston & New York before moving to Palm Beach County in 2008. Following the attacks of September 11 2001 by muslim terrorists, Ted devoted a considerable amount of time, effort & personal funds as a volunteer, serving & advocating for military personnel & their families. He was honored by the National Infantry Association, receiving the prestigious “Order of St. Maurice CIVIS Award”, “for Distinguished Contribution to & Loyal Support of The American Infantryman”, presented to him at Fort Benning GA on 9 September 2013. Ted spent many years volunteering in support of deployed soldiers & veterans with a variety of military support organizations during the Afghanistan & Iraq wars.
After 9-11, Ted served as a State Guard soldier in 2 states for 22 years, State Guards/State Defense Forces are official state military reserve organizations that support Army National Guard units in 22 states. They fall under the overall command of the Governor & The Adjutant General in those states with the mission of in-state defense support for civil authorities, they do not deploy outside the respective states. He began his State Guard career as a Private, receiving numerous awards and commendations, before rising to the rank of Major (SC) in 2017. He received an Honorable Discharge in March of 2024 from the South Carolina State Guard. He also served as a Senior Member of the Civil Air Patrol for many years & continues to support a number of charities & nonprofit causes, organizations, and community activities. Ted is a strong believer in Our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ & is a lifelong Greek Orthodox Christian.
Ted is a proud graduate of Syracuse University’s prestigious Newhouse School of Public Communications.
His goals are to shine a big light on the very mysterious government entity known as “The Port of Palm Beach” & its elected “Commissioners”, all marxist dems, since the public knows very, very little to nothing about the agency & the incumbent insider “Commissioners” want to keep it that way!
Ted will demand a full & complete PUBLIC FORENSIC AUDIT of the agency! No one can ever remember if a PUBLIC FORENSIC AUDIT HAS EVER BEEN DONE for the Port of Palm Beach! Dramatically reducing the agency spending is another goal, like every government entity, the Port of Palm Beach spends too much money. The Port of Palm Beach is one of many “Special Taxing Districts” authorized by the Florida Legislature, it’s one of the largest ports in the state & it’s time for fiscal responsibility! Another cutting edge element to the agenda Ted has planned is a 20% discount on ALL CRUISES FOR ALL PALM BEACH COUNTY RESIDENTS from the Port! This type of creative thinking, looking out for the folks, has never crossed the minds of the incumbents who sadly, use the position to look out only for themselves, one of them has been there for more than 40 years, another for 24 years! An 8 year term limit for all Port of Palm Beach Commissioners is yet another item on his platform that the public demands of all elected officials now.
Believe it or not, this agency has the power to levy a tax on all residents in the 17 municipalities it covers. Though it hasn’t happened in 50 years, Ted will make sure NO TAXES EVER, from the Port of Palm Beach to the public!
Ted will demand prohibiting all trains traveling from the Port through its host city Riviera Beach on ELECTION DAY, & other days important to the community, so residents are no longer cut off from polling places, parades & events on these important days.
He will launch an outreach program to attract more cruise lines, including discount cruises & luxury cruises to the Port. Right now, only 1 cruise line offers services there.
Ted will insist that a SPECIAL ELECTION BE HELD in 40 days, in the event of any vacancies for the position of Port Commissioner! No more backroom deals & insider marxist dem appointments!
