About Ted
Not a Career Politician.
Looking Out for the Folks.
Ted Sarandis is a self-employed property manager, a graduate of Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications, and spent decades as a radio and television talk show host and college basketball play-by-play voice in Boston and New York before moving to Palm Beach County in 2008.
After 9/11, Ted devoted years of time, effort, and personal funds as a volunteer serving and advocating for military personnel and their families, supporting deployed soldiers and veterans throughout the Afghanistan and Iraq wars.
He served 22 years as a State Guard soldier in two states, rising from Private to Major (SC) with numerous awards and an Honorable Discharge in 2024, and spent many years as a Senior Member of the Civil Air Patrol. The National Infantry Association honored him with the Order of St. Maurice CIVIS Award at Fort Benning, GA, for distinguished contribution to and loyal support of the American Infantryman.
Ted is running to shine a big light on the Port of Palm Beach — a special taxing district most residents know little to nothing about — and to bring accountability, fiscal responsibility, and real transparency to its board.
The Plan
Priorities for the Port of Palm Beach
One of the largest ports in Florida, with the power to levy a tax on every resident in the 17 municipalities it covers. Ted's agenda puts the public back in charge.
Public Forensic Audit
A full, complete public forensic audit by an independent, outside certified public accounting firm — something no one can remember ever being done for the Port.
Fiscal Responsibility
Dramatically reduce agency spending — and guarantee no taxes ever from the Port of Palm Beach on the public.
20% Cruise Discount
A 20% discount on all cruises from the Port for all Palm Beach County residents, plus an outreach program to attract more cruise lines — discount and luxury alike.
8-Year Term Limits
An 8-year term limit for all Port of Palm Beach Commissioners — the accountability the public now demands of every elected official.
Keep Election Day Open
Prohibit Port trains from cutting through Riviera Beach on Election Day and other important community days, so residents are never cut off from polling places, parades, and events.
No Backroom Appointments
A special election within 40 days for any Port Commissioner vacancy — the voters decide, not insiders.
The Sarandis Pledge
Ted will demand that all Port Commissioners agree to his pledge to stop accepting campaign contributions from anyone that does business with the Port of Palm Beach — now or in the future.
The Time Is Now
